The charge for the initial psychotherapy session, which runs
about an hour, is $125. The charge for a standard 45-50 minute psychotherapy session is $105. 25-minute sessions are $60,
and 75-80 minute sessions are $170.
Group therapy meetings are 90 minutes long and cost $45. Prospective group members must meet with me for a screening prior
to beginning group. The fee for a screening appointment, which lasts about 25 minutes, is $45.
My
fees will be increasing on July 5, 2011, in order to bring my rates into alignment with my level of skill, degree of training
and experience, costs of ongoing training and maintaining licensure and certifications, and customary rates in the Triangle
area.
Beginning July 5, my rates will be as follows:
Initial session (60 min.) $150
Standard 45-50 min. session $120
25-min. session $70
75-80 min. session $175
Group therapy
(90 min.) $50
Group screening session (25
min.) $50
We live in tough economic times that affect us all. If finances present a hardship, please don't
hesitate to let me know so that we can discuss payment arrangements.
I am an in-network provider for MHN (Managed Health Network), MedCost, Pearce and Pearce (the UNC student plan), and
UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (the Duke University student plan). If you are a member of any of these insurance plans,
you'll pay the co-pay specified by your plan. I file the claims and your insurance company will pay me the balance according
to their contracted rate. You may have a deductible and/or a limit on the number of sessions per year. Different plans have
different benefits, and if you have MHN, you'll need authorization prior to your first appointment. Please contact your insurance
company and inquire about your outpatient mental health benefits.
(Some
insurance companies contract their mental health benefits out to other plans. For example, you have plan "XYZ," but your plan
uses MHN for mental health. If so, I am an in-network provider for your plan. It can be confusing-- check your outpatient
mental health benefits information for these details.)
If
you have an insurance plan other than MHN, MedCost, or UHC StudentResources, you likely have Out-of-Network benefits that
will cover part of the cost. If so, I will be glad to file your insurance for you and accept a co-payment at the time of your
visit, or supply you monthly with completed forms that have all the information necessary to file your claim yourself. I can
also provide you with receipts for a flexible spending health-care account.
A Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session runs about 1-1/4 hours. The fee is $95 per session. Insurance does not cover
PRYT.
(Please note that Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is not a form of psychotherapy.
I don't do PRYT with my psychotherapy clients, and I don't practice psychotherapy with my PRYT clients. I am happy to recommend
a psychotherapist to a PRYT client should they ask, or should I believe it would be a helpful means of addressing concerns
that are beyond the scope of PRYT. I'm happy to recommend other PRYT practitioners to psychotherapy clients, as well.)
I
accept cash or checks. I will be accepting credit and debit cards beginning July 5, 2011. I strive to make payment terms as
user-friendly as possible. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions about fees, payment or billing.
